A GEORGE IV SAMPLER, 1828, worked by Amy Elizabeth Denmark, aged 9, in green and brown silks with upper case alphabet on a linen ground, Arabic numerals over a moralistic verse and five small oblong panels enclosing stags, tree of life and dogs within a stylised tulip border, 13" x 12", mahogany frame and gilt slip, together with a Scottish sampler by Janet Brown, "Jan.y.18, 1840, Edinburgh" worked in green and cream silk on a fine woven ground with "Important Rules for Families" within scrolling spandrels, wavy line border, 12 1/2" x 11 3/4", rosewood frame and gilt slip (2) (Est. plus 21% premium inc.
