'GIBSON HOUSE PHOTOGRAPHS' - IMAGES OF CORNWALL over 6 oblong quarto albums, each containing around 40 sepia images laid down on the card pages, c240 images, each with pencil labels below the image and explanation opposite, most dating from the 1880s/1890s, the 'Lytham Album' into which they are mounted probably 1930s. On the front pastedown of each volume in pencil: 'Copyright photographs by Gibson House Penzance.' Mixture of street scenes, tin mining, Cornish architecture and interiors, ancient monuments, topography, furniture and social occasions - 'The Furry Dance. Helston', all Penzance area. The sepia photographs are probably the work of Alexander or Herbert Gibson and represent a significant discovery (6) (Illustrated) (Est. plus 17.5% premium)
