A PRINTED VELLUM "WELCOMING" SCROLL from the "Members of the Indian Merchants Association", dated August 1927, by the Minto Press, Chittagong, 28" x 11", contained in a lined ebonised wood cylinder with white metal minaret ends and plaque engraved with dated inscription, 16 1/4" long (Est. plus 21% premium inc. VAT) This is part of a collection of scrolls awarded to Sir Francis Stanley Jackson (Governor of Bengal) of Chapel Allerton, Leeds. Soldier, Politician and Cricketer (played twenty Test Matches 1893-1905 scoring 1415 runs including five centuries)
